Watermarking is how photographers, designers, and content creators protect their work when it travels online, where right-click saving and screenshotting make uncredited reuse easy. A visible mark with your name, brand, or website stamped across the image makes it clear who owns it without making the image unusable for legitimate viewing.
The tool gives you full control over the mark: choose the text, pick a position (centre, corner, or tiled), set the font size, and dial in the opacity so the watermark is legible without dominating the image. A lower opacity keeps the photo pleasant to view while still deterring theft; a higher opacity makes the claim unmistakable.
Watermarking runs entirely in your browser using the HTML Canvas API. When you enter your text and settings and apply the watermark, the tool draws the source image onto an off-screen canvas, then uses the canvas 2D text rendering API to composite your text at the chosen position, size, colour, and opacity. The composited canvas is then re-encoded as a new image file and downloaded.
Your image never leaves your device — there is no upload, no server-side processing, and no copy retained after download. The original file on your device is never modified; the tool produces a new watermarked file you download alongside it. The watermark is burned into the output pixels, which means it cannot be removed from the downloaded file, so always keep your original if you want an unmarked version later.
This tool applies a text watermark. For a logo watermark, prepare a transparent PNG of your logo and composite it with a dedicated image editor, or request a logo watermark feature via the contact form.
