The tool encodes whatever text or URL you enter into a QR code that can be saved as an image and printed or embedded digitally. Because the code stores the data directly rather than pointing to a tracking server, it never expires and works offline — the only thing that can stop it working is the destination URL itself going down.

QR code generation runs entirely in your browser using a JavaScript QR encoding library. When you enter text or a URL and generate, the tool encodes your input into the standard QR matrix — a grid of black and white modules — using error correction so the code stays scannable even if part of it is smudged or obscured. The matrix is then rendered to a canvas and exported as a downloadable image.

Your data never leaves your device — there is no upload, no server-side processing, and no copy retained after download. The encoding happens locally in memory, so you can generate QR codes for sensitive information such as Wi-Fi credentials or private contact details without sending them anywhere. Closing the tab discards the input immediately.

The more data you encode, the denser the QR code becomes, which can make it harder to scan at small sizes. For URLs, use a short link if you plan to print the code small.
